Who am I?

My name is Katherine Pereira and I am a RYT200 and Myofascial Therapist, located in Hagersvile Ontario.

A little about me.

I has lived an active lifestyle, playing soccer from childhood until an injury forced me to hang up my cleats in my twenties. Unfortunately, this led me down a path of pain, depression, and anxiety that overtook my life. I felt as though I was losing myself and trapped in both my body and mind.

Telling myself that nothing will change unless I make a change. This gave me the courage to try something new, yoga. From the moment I stepped onto my mat, I knew it marked the start of my inward journey home.

As my passion grew, I decided to take a 200-hour teacher training course through Yogashala Wellness Centre and began teaching immediately. Since completing my initial training, I have had a hunger to learn more, always maintaining the mindset of a lifelong student. I has gone on to complete Fascial and Yin teacher training, as well as courses in Myofascial Release, Somatic Anatomy, Anatomy and Connection, Sensory Awareness & Yoga: The Missing Link for Trauma, and Philosophies of Yoga—Then and Now. I am well on my way to completing an additional 300 hours of training to become an RYT500.

My passion for sharing my knowledge and helping others experience yoga’s transformative benefits inspired me to start this business, Prana Yoga With Kat, offering yoga to the community.

My teaching approach is grounded in mindfulness and compassion, with a deep understanding of the nervous system and anatomy to better support my students in their therapeutic practice. I believes in the healing power of yoga to not only strengthen the body but also calm the mind and nurture the spirit. With a focus on mindful movement and breath awareness, I strives to create a safe and inclusive space for students to explore their practice at their own pace.

My own journey through yoga has deepened my commitment to helping others experience the same transformative benefits, whether they are managing stress, recovering from injury, or seeking a deeper sense of connection with themselves.

When I am not teaching yoga, I enjoy spending time outdoors with family, friends, and my fur baby, often while enjoying a glass of wine.

I hope to see you on your mat and help guide you on your inward journey home.
