Embracing Balance: Honoring the Fall Equinox

Today marks the Fall Equinox, a powerful moment of balance between light and dark, day and night. Twice a year, the sun crosses the celestial equator, giving us equal hours of sunlight and moonlight. It is a reminder from nature that balance is not something we achieve once and keep forever, but rather a cycle, an ebb and flow we are invited to honor and embody.

The Energy of the Equinox

The Fall Equinox is a threshold. It ushers us from the heat and expansion of summer into the grounding, reflective energy of autumn. Just as the leaves begin to change and the harvest ripens, we too are called to release what no longer serves us and gather the fruits of our own inner work.   • Grounding movement: Flow through slow sun salutations, bringing awareness to the breath and the steady rhythm of movement and stillness.

  • Meditation or journaling: Ask yourself, What am I ready to release with the falling leaves? What am I ready to welcome in as the season turns?

  • Connection to nature: Spend time outdoors, noticing the shifting colors, the crispness in the air, and the balance of sunlight and shadow.

These practices can help us align with the energy of the season and carry its lessons into our daily lives.

An Invitation to Pause
